Jugglers use the park throughout the year to provide free classes to the public. Stop by for a quick lesson, stay for the whole time, or just enjoy watching them put their skills to the test. Performance | The Last of US — that safe spot in the dot above the I in the word life: Performance Art
This performance travels across two floors of the building and involves spoken text. Seating and a written transcript will be available upon request. Fia Backström stages a two-person performance as the final element of her new work. Backström charts an associative trajectory in this multifaceted work, which has unfolded in stages since the exhibition’s opening in November. The foundation of the work is a set of what the artist calls “givens” in the space—existing materials related to historical or recent activities such as temporary structural remedies, wall colors, and artworks previously installed.

A sneak preview of the first in a series of films highlighting East Village artists and writers. This inagural film focuses on Jeffrey Cyphers Wright and the creative community he is part of. From Allen Ginsberg to John Sex. From Cover Mag to Live Mag! From the gardens to the poetry bars. From La Mama to Howl! Romance, lyricism, grafitti, tall tales... this is an intimate, informative, and amusing portrait of a quintessential East Village resident. Filmmaker Luigi Cazzaniga rejoins Wright (Cazzaniga was Cover Mag's art director and fashion editor and photographer) to create a humorous and historic portrayal. Fast paced and cram-packed with EV lore, this is haute entertainment dressed up in rowdy downtown style. Running time: 29 minutes, 51 seconds. A brief panel discussion will take audience questions and comments.

Opening Reception | Ken Graves/Eva Lipman: Restraint + Desire
This exhibition is the culmination of a lifelong creative partnership between husband and wife Ken Graves and Eva Lipman. Shooting the same subject simultaneously, the couple edits the film from both cameras, never revealing who clicked the shutter for the final photograph selected. For decades Graves and Lipman documented high school dances, military ceremonies, football games, boxing matches, and other American social rituals, seeking to capture the complex intensity between humans often overlooked in these commonplace settings.
