An adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey by Christine Simpson in which Penny has found herself in a peculiar position: while she waits for the safe return of her MIA husband, she's been selected as the "face of the women and families at home." Her celebrity status does not sit well with her friend Cynthia, who isn't sure why she wasn't chosen since she's right with God. Author Reading | Visionary filmmaker Werner Herzog reads from his book Conquest of the Useless: Reflections from the Making of Fitzcarraldo


Herzog stands out as one of contemporary cinema’s true auteurs and his Fitzcarraldo, for which he won the Outstanding Director Prize at 1982’s Cannes Film Festival, is widely regarded as a masterpiece. In this book, he shares the journals he kept during the grueling shoot in the Amazon rainforest.
