Concert | Honoring MLK Jr. with Music from the African Diaspora

Juneteenth LP (Juneteenth Legacy Project) spreads the message of Rev. Dr. King; that in times of great strife and great struggle, the people always seem to be mesmerized by uncertainty, caught up in the grip of despair.  The musical collective shares the music of the African Diaspora through the lens of Black classically trained musicians in honor of MLK DAY. This concert is a potent reminder that we have always been the only heroes that we ever needed, that there is hope in connection and community, resistance in joyful song and dance.  As always, these concerts are collaborative, so come ready to sing, shout ,and bear witness. Hear music performed by Frédérique Gnaman, violin, Sean David Cunningham, violin, Patrick Page, viola, Eric Cooper, cello, Nnenna Ogwo, piano, and Shirazette Tinnin, drums.
