Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, and they do have some if you need to borrow one for the class. Also bring a journal and something to write with. You will be writing a few times during the class, and if you prefer to sketch or want to do both, that is fine. Hike | Unforgotten Wetlands Megawalk

Duration: 6 - 7 hours. Distance: 18 miles. Brisk pace, residential neighborhoods, some nature trails. Drop-out points. Bring: water, snacks. Restrooms: several restroom breaks (first one at 1.5 miles in); The key feature will be wetlands which are being “unforgotten” as public attention turns to the water bodies that have quenched New Yorkers’ thirst long before the city developed its aqueduct system and forgot all about the waters that made it what it is today. These wetlands are being remembered and, in some cases, restored for their ecological value. Visit a creek whose mucky wetlands played a key role in saving George Washington’s army. See where the Long Island Sound inlets of the Bronx and Queens were reshaped for navigation.
