In this workshop, guests are invited to learn Enrico Cecchetti’s famous technique through the Jerome Robbins Dance Division’s audio and moving image collection and the movement styles shown on the screen. The Founder of the New York Theatre Ballet School, Diana Byer, uses material from the collection to lead movement workshops highlighting the history of the technique, focusing on the one developed by Cecchetti and later taught by Margaret Craske. No prior dance experience required.

A talk with Ashley Clark, the writer of The World of Black Film, an entertaining, informed, and thought-provoking survey of important and influential Black films from around the globe. Starting with the unfinished silent comedy Lime Kiln Club Field Day and concluding with Steve McQueen's World War II epic Blitz, this book takes readers on an exciting journey through an eclectic mix of classics and hidden gems spanning more than 100 years and 30 countries. Ashley Clark is the curatorial director at the Criterion Collection. Previously, he worked as director of film programming at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and he has curated film series at BFI Southbank, the Museum of Modern Art, and TIFF Bell Lightbox, among other venues.

A wild, epic fantasy adventure film, loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. Perseus must battle Medusa and the Kraken to save Princess Andromeda. Director: Desmond Davis Cast: Harry Hamlin, Laurence Olivier, Judi Bowker, Maggie Smith, Burgess Meredith, Ursula Andress Laurence Olivier was an English actor and director who dominated the British stage of the mid-20th century. He also worked in films throughout his career, playing more than fifty cinema roles. For his on-screen work, he received two Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, five Emmy Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards. The National Theatre's largest auditorium is named in his honor, and he is commemorated in the Laurence Olivier Awards, given annually by the Society of London Theatre.

This event provides the equipment, instruction, and oversight you need to experience a safe and fun afternoon of kayaking on the Hudson River. The program is beginner-friendly, and no prior experience is required. Participants must be at least 18 years old (or accompanied by a parent or guardian) and know how to swim. Come dressed to get wet! Lockers and locks will be provided to keep valuables dry, and on-site changing rooms will be available for use. To save time, you can also sign a waiver before arriving to save time, available at the link provided. Be sure to allow time for waiting in line when planning your visit. You may not get a chance to kayak if you arrive less than an hour before the boathouse closes.
