Here is what says about this piece: Here is what LA Philharmonic Program Notes say about this piece: "During the second half of the 18th century, serenades, and divertimentos were the favored music of the aristocracy and middle class. Kings, counts, wealthy merchants, and mayors commissioned pieces as background ambience for guests at teas, sit-down dinners, and garden parties. All of the day's composers contributed to this fad, from local hacks to the likes of Mozart and Haydn. Even that forward-looking titan with the furrowed brow had a go at the genre as the century came to a close. Composed from 1799 to 1800, before Beethoven became aware of his impending deafness, the Septet in E-flat summed up this frothiest of late-18th-century musical entertainments--the entire Classical serenade and divertimento tradition. Much to Beethoven's chagrin, the relentless popularity of this divertimento eclipsed some of his greater artistic achievements. He ranted and railed when the work continued to overshadow his masterpieces."

Jazz | CANCELED!!! Latin GRAMMY Ambassador Fuses Latin American Folk & Jazz


Born in Colombia and raised in The Bronx, Manuela Sanchez Goubert, a rising star vocalist, composer, and producer, takes the stage. Her work intermingles the sound of Latin American folkloric traditions with contemporary jazz. Her lyrics explore identity, home, and the complex dialogue between traditional and modern music-making. Sanchez Goubert is a Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation Ambassador and a 2024 Leading Ladies of Entertainment mentee. She is also a recipient of a DownBeat Award. Her debut album, 2024's Raices, deftly laces the vast world of Latin American folk music with jazz improvisation and passionate melody. For her headlining Lincoln Center debut, Sanchez Goubert will present songs from Raices and her forthcoming sophomore album. There are two ways to access this event: 1. Classical Music | Orchestral Works by Handel & Grammy-Winning Composer Caroline Shaw at Landmark Venue 


Peter Whelan, conductor, Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen, countertenor, Lauren Snouffer, soprano, and Dashon Burton, bass-baritone. The film follows a legendary family of explorers who must set aside their differences as they embark on a journey to a mysterious subterranean land inhabited by surreal lifeforms, in order to save the miracle plant Pando, which is their society's source of energy. Concert | Avant-Garde, Contemporary Orchestral Works by Grammy Nominated Composer in the Park


The violinist, singer, songwriter, and composer Andrew Bird has stretched the musical boundaries of folk in an eclectic career that spans 18 albums, developing a multi-layered sound with diverse instrumentation. His work has demonstrated an avant-pop sophistication with a mastery of elaborate loops, multi-tracked violin, and his prowess as a whistler. Bird has headlined shows at iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The Wordless Music Orchestra conducted by Hannah Schendel, will perform his record, The Mysterious Production of Eggs, for the first time in its entirety alongside a full orchestra, followed by a suite of fan-favorites from his nearly 30-year repertoire.

Screening | Salmokji: Whispering Water (2026) -- Korean Folk Horror Film


An unidentified figure appears in the road-view footage of Salmokji Reservoir, a place long haunted by strange rumors--despite never having been captured on camera before. With a strict deadline to complete a reshoot before the end of the day, producer Su-in and her film crew head to the reservoir. As filming begins, Gyo-sik, a senior colleague who had mysteriously disappeared, suddenly reappears. One unexplained incident follows another, plunging the crew into mounting chaos and terror. Amid the escalating nightmare, Gi-tae races toward Su-in, but the harder they struggle to escape, the deeper they are drawn into the darkness lurking beneath the reservoir.
