Greenwich Village is among Manhattan's most desirable and expensive residential neighborhoods. It's history, however, betrays it's monied status. The Village, with it's quiet, shaded streets, lined with lovely brick and brownstone townhouses, was once the incubating ground of artistic, social and political movements that have helped shape US history. From the Beats to the Folk Movement, from workers rights to gay rights, the Village has often been the center of it all.

Talk | Artist Talk: Owen Armour

Australian/Swedish artist Owen Armour will discuss and demonstrate his sonic influences, from meteors crashing to earth or sink holes forming, and how sound impacts shape his practice, whether its seen or unseen. Armour works at the tense edge of sound and sculpture with as starting point the visualization and physicality of sound and how material objects – human or non-human affect the soundscapes that surrounds us. He welds these mediums into an indistinguishable third mode. Armour is interested in subtle acoustics changes in space, both real and imaginary. He also experiments with pressure as he uses his body to mold materials like concrete, ceramics and metal. “All vibrating – none silent.”

Parade | New York City’s 32nd Annual April Fools’ Day Parade: It’s a Trumpathon!

Everyone is invited to help amass the world's largest assembly of Trump look-alikes to march in the parade. New York's irreverent April Fools' Day Parade returns, poking fun once again at the past year's displays of hype, hypocrisy, deceit, bigotry, and downright foolishness. Nothing is sacred. Their satire knows no bounds. The parade this year will be a massive "TRUMPATHON" celebrating our president's greatest fixation -- himself. The public is encouraged to participate, in or out of costume, with or without floats, and may join the procession at any point along the parade route. Floats can be no wider than 10’ and no longer than 30’. They can be self-propelled, towed, pushed or pulled. Customized bicycles, tricycles, baby carriages and aerial balloons are welcome. The parade will start at 12 noon, and will pass by Trump Tower at 12:15 pm. It then marches down Fifth Avenue to Washington Square Park.

Opening Reception | The T Party: An Exhibition by Josef Bull

Steeped in disparate references to tea, this new body of work materializes a wide range of relationships, both intact and fragmented, that playfully riff on archetypes, cultural artifacts, and familiar imagery. At the show’s center is a sculpture hinting at an intricate mind map that weaves throughout the exhibition. A basketball-hoop-backboard, with an infinity-mirror platform, scrolls associative loops of LED text, and supports an overstock.com chrome tea cart decked with knotted objects: a tip-jar stripper pump, an Arizona iced-tea can sandwiched between Ronald Reagan’s inauguration cup and saucer, a geisha-fied novelty Reagan teapot with neck tattoos reading “Fate” and “Faith.” A cardinal covered tea-towel drapes over its handlebar beside a clamped iPad amplified by a can-shaped speaker in a drink holder below.
