Gallery Talk | Artist Luis Camnitzer speaks on Blinky Palermo


Palermo was a German abstract painter (1943-1977) famous for his spare monochromatic canvases and "fabric paintings" made from simple lengths of colored material cut, stitched and stretched over a frame. Camnitzer is a German-born Uruguayan artist and academic who resides in the United States. He is a conceptual artist who works in the media of printmaking and sculpture.

Program: PURCELL - Chacony arranged for strings by Britten ELGAR - Serenade in E minor for String Orchestra, Op. 20 BRITTEN - Prelude and Fugue, Op. 20 TURINA - Bullfighter's Prayer TCHAIKOVSKY - Serenade The East Coast Chamber Orchestra embarked on a U.S. tour last spring that included its Kennedy Center debut and was received with critical accolades and standing ovations. Comprised of 17 leading soloists and chamber musicians of the younger generation, ECCO boasts virtuosity, commitment and joyous music-making.
