Park Walk | Park Nature Walk


This walk is bringing attention to its vital role in creating one of the scarcest resources in all of Manhattan—wildlife habitat! Learn about the Park’s wildlife by joining experienced naturalists on guided nature walks along the Park’s esplanade. Enjoy a meandering waterfront walk while viewing and learning about the park’s flora and fauna, including some of the 85 different species of birds identified within Park boundaries. Peek into some of our many gardens to discover butterflies, dragonflies and other interesting insects. Get to know the native plants that thrive in unexpected places in and around the river’s edge.

Workshop | Kayaking on the Hudson

Performance | Write Out Front: A Playwright Happening


Watch emerging and emerged playwrights, book writers and lyricists create new work right in front of your eyes. During two hour time slots, a writer or writer's team will write a new play in the storefront window with a screen shot of their computer projected behind them, visible to the street. See writers create new worlds, find inspiration and try to avoid Facebook (or not). Come see playwrights from shows coming up or currently playing at venues around town including the NY International Fringe Festival.

Concert | Latin World Music with Cocomama


Cocomama is an international group of women based in New York City who are natives of such diverse places as Cuba, Israel, France, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Oregon and Wisconsin. They play hard-hitting, original Latin music deeply rooted in Afro-Caribbean rhythms. Inspired by their various musical and cultural backgrounds, their music draws upon jazz, World, Afro-Cuban, and South American traditions. Members of the band have played with such legendary artists as Machito, Dizzy Gillespie, Betty Carter, Sheila E., Celia Cruz, Ray Barretto, and Tito Puente.
