Conference | Interrogate Public Resource Policies in NYC

This conference invites participants to interrogate the scope, role, and nature of what public resources can provide, especially considering what a people-oriented policy framework can do for the city economically. The Zohran Mamdani administration has reinvigorated the demand for a city centered on affordability, focusing on a broad swathe of platforms aimed at achieving affordable housing, accessible public transit, food security, and universal childcare.  This program asks how an engagement with public resources that goes beyond a traditional, conventional, and narrow conceptualization of what is achievable allows, for an understanding that centers equity, sustainability, and collective well-being for New York City and its residents. The convening will bring an academic and technical lens to debates, offering empirical and theoretical support for a policy platform rooted in heterodox and progressive economic traditions.

Performance | FEMM: Feminist Drama by Emerging Playwright

A museum for its patrons and a prison for its relics, FEMM is a place where women who behave outside of the patriarchal status quo are kept for their own safety. When Char is admitted to the “hysterics exhibition,” she meets four women who have been kept there for longer than they can remember—Ginny, an emotionally volatile recluse who touts complacency but is secretly manipulating her way to escape; Zee, an excitable harpy prone to fits of ecstasy; Via, an apathetic lover of morbidity; and Opi, who often gets lost in familiar places and speaks in strange hallucinogenic riddles. As Char enters their realm, she begins to discover a community among the madwomen, but pushes them to begin exposing the injustices of the emporium. Written by Zoe Stanton-Savitz.

Screening | Ghost in the Machine (2026): Artifical Intelligence Documentary (+ Filmmaker Discussion)

Ghost in the Machine exposes the buried history of artificial intelligence, not as a neutral system of algorithms, but as a technology shaped by racism, misogyny, and entrenched structures of power. Rejecting the notion of AI as inevitable or objective, the documentary traces how myths of progress and efficiency have obscured deeper political and cultural agendas, revealing the ideological foundations beneath the systems now rapidly reshaping modern society. This film is not about machines. It is about power. Ghost in the Machine interrogates who builds AI, who benefits from it, and who bears the cost.  Director: Valerie Veatch The screening will be followed by a discussion of the film, with Veatch in conversation with McKenzie Wark, Ezekiel Dixon Román, and Jessie Daniels.

Play | Limitrophe: Apocalypstic Drama by Emerging Playwright

What can you build on a territory that has been reduced to ruins? On the edge of a border harbor, under a cloche, there aren’t many souls left living. Yet, THE GRAPEVINE narrates NEREO’s arrival to this terrible territory on Suspension Sunday. By chance (or not), he gets hired as a handyman at the Borrodale country house. There, in the middle of debris, are surviving THE BARONESS OF BORRODALE and JACKIE, childhood allies and accomplices. At first blush, the young man’s presence sows discord, friction, and jealousy between the two. At second blush, it also reveals the devastation of their past, and the limits of their future.
