Concert | Indistinct Conversations: Art and Photography by Seth Wandersman

Seth Wandersman’s photographic series of nebulous, lost souls will emulate a reverse ascension. Perhaps an update to church iconography the figures have an emotional pull but no fixed message and little concrete structure- in one a short-haired woman seems overwhelmed perhaps hopeless, in another a torso’s arms descend into wings. Each image resolves from a minimum of visual information but despite this the figures and scene have distinct personalities. The transmigration began with solid forms but they become clouds of light and reveal stories of animatronic sexuality, alienation, lust and sadness.
