Program: Johann Sebastian Bach - THE COMPLETE TOCCATAS & FANTASIES, PART 3 with Claudia Dumschat, Organist The Third of a 3-part series of “The Complete Bach Toccatas and Fantasies for Organ,” this evening’s Bach Vespers includes the Toccata in F Major (BWV 540), Toccata in D minor (BWV 565), and Fantasy in g minor (BWV 542). Claudia Dumschat is Organist and Choirmaster at Church of the Transfiguration, also known as “The Little Church around the Corner,” a national landmark church in Manhattan, with a professional Choir of Men and Boys. She has performed throughout the United States as well as in Spain, Italy, Germany, and The Netherlands. Preceding Vespers at 4:15 p.m., there is a talk on the evening’s works with Dumschat in the organ loft.

Dance Lesson | Family Dance with Caller Henry Chapin


Absolute beginners and experienced dancers of all ages are welcome! No partner needed. Chapin will teach fun and easy English country dances and translation will be available into Spanish. The Orfeo Duo (Vita Wallace, violin, and Ishmael Wallace, piano) and Bill Christophersen, fiddle, will play traditional tunes and new dance music by neighborhood composers Hannah Lash and James Blachly, and interludes will feature singer Gizelxanath Rodriguez and the Fidel Cuellar Group, including pianist Fidel Cuellar, bassist Andres Rotmistrovsky, and drummer Rafael Monteagudo in tangos and Latin jazz.

Fighting Nirvana is a story about endless desire and illusions of love and sex. It's about repression and wrath. It's about three confused people trying to find out who they are...and a clown who may in fact be the hero. Written and Directed by Gabe Rodríguez. Gabe Rodríguez graduated from Syracuse University's acclaimed film school, Newhouse, in 2006. Since then he has worked on several TV shows, including Bill Moyers' Journal (PBS), The Apprentice (NBC), and Make Me a Supermodel (Bravo). He has twice been a producer for MenuMasters, a major award show for restaurant franchises. In 2007, he made The Joy That Got Away, a fan documentary about the making of the cult classic Return To Oz (1985).
