Another example of an event that you can attend all year round on weekdays is Federal Reserve Bank Tour, which takes place every week day at 1 pm (but advanced reservations are required). You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. Park Walk | Guided Salt Marsh Tour


A guided walk of the park and its neighboring wetlands. This walk and tour will highlight previous restoration work at Soundview Park and preview an upcoming restoration site still in the design phase. Volunteers will learn about the value of wetlands for urban areas as well as the challenges critical salt marshes face due to climate change. Participants will also learn how they can get involved in ongoing volunteer opportunities and take part in a wetland clean-up at the end of the tour. Please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes and be prepared to be outdoors.

Park Walk | Interesting Insects Park Tour


The garden boasts over 600 varieties of plants, trees, and shrubs which makes it a wonderful context for insects. Naturalist Ken Chaya leads a guided tour and learn about the benefits of bugs, and how these insects help pollinate plants and serve as a food source for birds and beasts, helping foster biodiversity. The program is for nature lovers of all ages.

Gallery Talk | Geles Cabrera: Museo Escultórico: Exhibition Tour


A public tour of the exhibition led by Tie Jojima and Rachel Remick, two of the co-curators of the exhibition. Geles Cabrera: Museo Escultórico explores the legacy of Mexican sculptor Geles Cabrera, presenting a selection of works created over 40 years of the artist’s career. The first solo show of Cabrera in the United States, this exhibition includes sculptures that reveal the artist’s interest in the human body and her experimentation with different materials alongside archival documentation of her artistic practice in Mexico City. Born in 1926, Cabrera occupies a unique place in the trajectory of Mexican art as one of the country's most prominent female sculptors. Situated between abstraction and figuration, her visionary sculptures offered new understandings of the human form.

Film | Silent Clown Film: Charley Chase "Crowd Pleaser"


Charley Chase (1893 - 1940) was an American comedian, actor, screenwriter and film director. His penchant for embarrassing situations made him the put upon everyman of the Hal Roach Studio. After many years as one of the era's overlooked masters, the last few years have seen him receive well-deserved attention for his work as a director, writer, and star. The screening selection opens with Charley behind the camera for Sold At Auction (1923) with Snub Pollard, and continues with the Chase classics, His Wooden Wedding (1925), Dog Shy (1926), and the rarely seen Movie Night (1929). Screenings feature live piano accompaniment by MoMA's Ben Model, with an introduction and Q&A by film historians Model and Steve Massa.

Follow the history of pastry and sugar from the late 18th century to today in this public program that will explore the origins of the pastry arts, sugar fancy, and the ties between sugar and architecture. Concert | 20+-Member Ensemble Connects Big Band to Hip-Hop


Revive Big Band is big. Not just in size--20+ members--but in scope, using jazz to connect the throughlines between hip-hop and its predecessors. The band is led by trumpeter and composer Igmar Thomas, who moonlights as Lauryn Hill's music director and once served as Nas' bandleader. Their performance will feature French soul-rap-R&B singer Thais Lona. They're joined by the singer, flutist, beat-maker, producer, and Melanie Charles, whose latest LP Y'all Don't (Really) Care About Black Women features a reimagining of Marlena Shaw's 1969 working class anthem "Woman Of The Ghetto" and supported by Erika the DJ.
