Julieta Venegas is a renowned Mexican singer, instrumentalist and songwriter. With six released albums to date, Venegas has sold more than 9 million copies of her albums worldwide. The Washington Post describes Venegas as a different sort of artist. “While many of her songs will entice you to get up and dance, there is also an intimacy to her work that comes through even for those whose Spanish doesn’t go much beyond “hola.” Carla Morrison is a Mexican Alternative-Pop songstress with international recognition who released her debut, self-produced EP back in 2010. Only two years later, she won 2 Latin GRAMMY Awards for her most recent and most personal album yet, Dejenme Llorar (Let Me Cry). Named by TIME Magazine as an artist “poised for US stardom” Alex Anwandter brings together 80′s-influenced dance music and emotional songwriting, presented with an engaging live performance full of intimacy and showmanship. His solo debut Rebeldes features poignant lyrics that tug at heart-strings, while crisp percussion and upbeat basslines keep the body moving.

Theater | Shakespeare Outdoors: Cymbeline, Presented by The Drilling Company

Cymbeline has a complex, not a simple narrative, and is sometimes classified as a problem play because it is part history, part tragedy and part comedy. The marriage of Imogen and Posthumus is tested in the context of a rebellion of the Britons against the Roman Empire. Shows are offered while the lot is in use. The action sometimes happens around a parked car which drives away during a performance. At such times, the players stop and the audience moves its chairs, pausing the performance the same way a show would stop for rain uptown in Central Park. It's all part of the fun.
