Richard Nixon's administration shows its true methods and causes deep introspection in the American political atmosphere. 120 min. Starring: Alan Shearman, Jim Ward. Concert | CANCELLED***Experimental Soundscapes with Hints of Folk and Hip-Hop***CANCELLED

***THIS EVENT HAD BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN*** Artist Nicholas Galanin performs experimental songs and soundscapes that include hints of folk and hip-hop with his band Indian Agent. Historically, the Indian Agent was a post filled with settlers appointed by the colonial U.S. government to control indigenous populations. These non-indigenous Indian Agents managed and enforced oppression of indigenous civilization throughout Turtle Island. The Indian Agent once oversaw the rape, murder and brainwashing, of minds, bodies, souls, land and culture in the name of the United States of America. This true history of the Indian Agent is intentionally shrouded in mystery along with truths about the spread of the sickness known as manifest destiny.

Opening Reception | Revolution Starts at Home: Tangible Paintings

Chelsea Gibson paints very tangible portraits of people and objects in their homes. From this stems a deeper, reflexive awareness of the performance of living that defines "home" as a state of harmony-as the alignment of person, place, object, and time. Whether in her own home or someone else's, Gibson's portraits and still lives express feelings of loss and love, empathy, and acceptance of the human condition.

Opening Reception | Untitled: Self-Portaits of Comfortable Despair

Untitled is a series of self-portraits borne through the artist’s internal processing of his naturalization as an American citizen and subsequently what it means being a queer black man in America. Vulnerable, naked, hanging and white-washed with eyes open, communicating (to those willing to truly see him) a sense of quiet almost comfortable despair. Ricardo Horatio Nelson is a Jamaican born queer artist in self-imposed asylum in New York. A fashion and portrait photographer, he uses the medium as a way of studying, looking, and perceiving his subjects' humanity to cultivate an environment of empathy which embraces the vulnerability of the human experience, opening the pathway to understand his own.
