Dance Performance | Dance from Budapest's Palace of Arts (online)

The Recirquel Contemporary Circus Company founded in 2012 under the leadership of director and choreographer Bence Vági invited 11 young Hungarian circus artists to create a production for the 20th Sziget Festival, which met with enormous success. Since then, the company has three of its own productions under its belt. Audiences both at home and abroad, in the Palace of Arts as well as on several foreign tours, have had the chance to get to know and love the company at a host of packed-out performances of Night Circus, The Naked Clown and Paris de Nuit. A package of highlights from these productions is offered as a birthday gift to the 10-year-old Müpa - and of course to the audience.

Lecture | The Art of Marc Klionsky: Shaping a Three-World Condition from Minsk to New York (online)

This exciting program will feature the paintings of Marc Klionsky (February 22, 1927 - September 17, 2017). Born in the Soviet Union, Klionsky managed to navigate what has been called a "two-world condition"--creating the particularized Soviet Socialist Realist work that was acceptable to the Stalinist and post-Stalinist State while allowing his soul to reveal itself in work that only a very few trusted viewers might see. As a Jewish artist, in fact, he lived through a "three-world condition," needing always to negotiate where that part of his identity might or might not express itself in his art.
