You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. If you are classical music afficionado, you can spend whole day in New York going from one free classical concert to another. If you love theater, then New York gives you an option to attend plays and musicals free of charge, or at deep discount. You just need to have information about it. City Walk | Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo Tour


This is a 3-hour tour that begins with a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, an icon of New York City for over 125 years, with spectacular views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The tour then moves on to a stroll of Brooklyn Heights, America’s and New York City’s first suburb. The tour then explores the neighborhood DUMBO before ending at the Fulton Ferry landing. This tour takes place every day at 10am.

Jazz | Louis, Benny, the Duke, and George: Sammy Miller and The Congregation Celebrates George Avakian


American music producer, artist manager, writer, and educator George Avakian has profoundly impacted the history of American music, especially jazz. He practically invented the 78rpm jazz album, and as a senior producer at Columbia, RCA, and other companies, he collaborated with and championed such diverse artists as Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, John Cage, Alan Hovhaness, Keith Jarrett, and Sonny Rollins. In celebration of Avakian’s outstanding contributions to jazz and the recent acquisition of Avakian archive, this is an evening of conversation and music. Avakian shares his memories with rising star drummer and band leader Sammy Miller. Miller will also perform with his band, The Congregation, tunes of Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, and Duke Ellington, all artists championed by Avakian.

During the 60's he worked as a major contributor to four presitigious magazines, Esquire, McCall's, Newsweek, and Show. His work is characterized by his sense of fantasy and invention. Surrealism is an influence in his plays with proportion and reality. Among the museums that have exhibited his work are: The Museum of Modern Art and Victoria & Albert Museum, where he was included "Shots of Style" a retrospective of the world's major fashion photographers.

Concert | The Piano Is A Drum: Randy Weston and Senegalese Master Drummers in a Tribute to Doudou N'Diaye Rose


On August 19, 2015, Doudou N'Diaye Rose passed away in Dakar. This program was intended to feature N'Diaye as a special guest artist, but will instead pay homage to Doudou's incredible musical legacy and will present performances by several of his sons (master drummers in their own right) direct from Senegal, Moustapha ("Tapha") N'Diaye and Birame N'Diaye. They will be joined onstage by Senegalese drummers Mar Gueye and his son, Mor Coumba Gueye, legendary percussionist Neil Clarke, and New School Jazz Artist-in-Residence, pianist and composer Randy Weston.
