Park Walk | A Tour of Carol Bove's Sculptural Installation Caterpillar

Working mainly in the field of sculpture, Bove has been making sculptural installations that range from small-scale, intimate arrangements of objects to monumental outdoors artworks. In the early 2000s, Bove made a series of wall-mounted shelves, which contained disparate elements, such as used books, vintage magazines, vernacular sculptures, and found objects. Alongside these intimate installations, Bove has recently been working on larger compositions which often take over the entire exhibition space, turning the gallery into a landscape or a vitrine. For the project, Bove continues her research on the role and function of art in the public space, by creating seven new sculptures which are installed within the self-seeded landscape. Bove’s site-specific installation highlights the uniqueness of its location and opens a magical environment for viewers. Installed along a 300-yard stretch of the untouched terrain, Bove’s sculptures reveal themselves among the unruly vegetation, like mysteriously pristine ruins of a lost civilization or a contemporary version of a Zen garden. Tour times: 10 AM, 11 AM, 12PM, 2PM, 3PM.

Concert | The Art Mob presents Deadpan Alley

The Art Mob is playing it straight (sort of). Buster Keaton straight. Bob Newhart straight. The sly word, the hidden jab, the slightly raised eyebrow. Combine that with their penchant for doing music by folks who are long dead. Oh, and add the occasional Tin Pan Alley tune to the mix. Deadpan. Tin Pan Alley. Deadpan Alley. Get it? Come hear the Art Mob, an uncommon a cappella chorus of 17-ish intrepid singers. They will wow you with their patented mix of offbeat, witty, and occasionally heart-rending Victorian parlor songs, Sacred Harp hymns, and radio gospel, with some jazz, country, and new music mixed in.

Film | Marc Levin's Protocols of Zion (2005): Documentary on the Racist Diatribe

After the twin towers fell on September 11th, an outlandish and bigoted rumor rose up that claimed that no Jews had died in the attack. Marc Levin first came upon this in a conversation with an Egyptian taxi driver, who said that all Jews had been warned to stay home that day and that everything was written in the 100-year-old book, "The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion." How could this discredited forgery fuel this resurgence of post-9/11 anti-semitism across the globe? 95 min. Q&A with Marc Levin.
