Do you enjoy drawing? Are you interested in starting a sketchbook? Join educators and other like-minded individuals for a sketchbooking meet-up. Each time, the meet-up will be held in a different part of the park to explore various subjects and practice different skills. These are casual sessions that include some instruction for beginners, as well as an open exchange of ideas, techniques, and materials. This month's session will focus on spring trees and sketching their shapes before they are in full bloom.  Note: It is encouraged to bring your own materials but some will be provided for those who don't have. This program is intended for adults. There will be 25 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Workshop | Make Your Own Tabletop Game (All Ages)


Whether you're a high-score hero or a first-time player, this all-ages interactive game design workshop, led by the experts from New York University's Game Center, is for you! Roll up your sleeves and then roll the dice for an evening of analog exploration as NYU professors and creative professionals present you with the fundamentals you'll need to craft your very own tabletop game. Beginning with a primer on how to modify a familiar classic and with an overview of modern game archetypes, you'll learn the basic principles of design and execution as you decide if your idea is best suited for a board game, a card game, or something completely new! The team will help you weigh out the best balance of strategy and chance, frustration and fun, complexity and pick-up-and-play, all in service of making your game-night vision a reality. There are two ways to access this event: 1. General Admission, first-come first-served. Just show up! 2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon.
