Lecture | A WWII Airman’s Story of Survival, Memory, and Wartime Friendship (Online!)

Historian Bill Ibelle discusses Into the Inferno, his account of a 19-year-old B-17 gunner facing the brutal realities of bombing missions over Nazi-occupied Europe: freezing temperatures, enemy fighters emerging from cloud cover, barrages of ground fire, and the emotional toll waiting back at base.   The book also follows the parallel wartime journeys of infantry marksman Fran Brighenti in the Pacific theater, contrasting two young soldiers shaped by vastly different fronts. Their intertwined stories weave fear, humor, camaraderie, and the quiet ache of longing, ultimately tracing a son’s search to understand his father’s hidden past.

Play | The Seven Ravens: Family-Friendly Fairytale Adaptation (In Person AND Online!)

When a young girl makes a shocking discovery about the history of her family, she embarks on a challenging quest to reunite with loved ones she's never met. Weaving a little-known Brothers Grimm tale with the experiences of child migrants, refugees, unaccompanied minors, and displaced youth across the globe, The Seven Ravens explores the meaning of home, the love of family, and the lengths to which a child may go to build bridges to her own lost past. A playful, imaginative, and visually arresting work, The Seven Ravens celebrates the resilience, imagination, resourcefulness, and tenacity of children living through displacement, separation, and dreams of reunion in the face of great odds, shedding light on one of today's most pressing sociopolitical issues through the lenses of allegory, fantasy, and play.

Playwright & Director: Marisol Rosa-Shapiro For ages 7-10, but all are welcome!

Discussion | Vex: Exploring Movement, Scores, and the Unthought

Join a scored conversation that investigates the “vex” in performance and choreography. Choreographer Moriah Evans and performance theorist Rebecca Schneider engage in live thinking around bodies, scores, and the ways work unfolds in and against received forms. The conversation explores moments of unbecoming that gesture toward the unthought, revealing new possibilities in movement and performance practice.

Concert | Creole Singer-Songwriter Brings Soulful Soundscape to the Stage

Experience the soulful soundscape of Natie, a Creole musician and singer-songwriter from Reunion Island whose music explores identity, migration, and the search for home. After touring the world as part of Beyonce and Jay-Z's band in 2018, Natie launched her solo career with the music video "Identity" and debut EP, In the Key of Fall. Her work blends languages, traditions, and genres to reflect the richness and complexity of being Creole (mixed-race) and uprooted with authenticity and emotional depth. She has graced stages from Lincoln Center's 100 Years 100 Women project and Global Fest with the Ragini Ensemble to SummerStage with Ganavya and the 20th anniversary of Reunion's Sakifo Festival. Enjoy an intimate evening of song and storytelling as Natie shares her deeply personal journey through music -- a celebration of belonging that crosses borders and builds bridges.
