Play | Seven in One Blow, or The Brave Little Kid: A Family Play Inspired by The Grimm's Fairy Tale!

" ...(a) genuinely sweet, heart-warming, heart-filling hour of theatre." - NYTheatre.com "...what could be better than a play that asks you to shout? Well, one that asks you to sing..." - The New York Times Adapted from the classic fairy tale by The Brothers Grimm, The Brave Little Tailor. Seven In One Blow, or The Brave Little Kid tells the story of a child living in the city who kills seven flies with a single swat and makes a belt emblazoned with "SEVEN IN ONE BLOW" to commemorate the event. As he is traveling about, most people think his belt refers to seven people and assign the Kid all kinds of difficult tasks based on this faulty presumption. Along the way a few interesting things are learned: an Ogre finds that you don't always have to show how strong you are... sometimes it's okay just to be quiet about it; a girl realizes that when you tease people you are hurting someone who may be just like you; and a scary monster understands that because she is loved, she may not be so scary after all. In the end, the Kid ultimately discovers that a parent's love and care has no bounds..

An exhibition highlighting Mary Frank’s newest paintings, collages, sculptures, and never-before-seen drawings. The works center on themes of recurrence, discovery, and reimagining her own archive. Opening Reception | Multi-Artist Exhibition Offering Humanizing Perspective of Service: Where Have All the Flowers Gone?

The New School’s art collection is shown here in dialogue with contemporary artists who have served in the armed forces, a pairing that foregrounds perspectives rarely (if ever) granted visibility within contemporary art discourse. By placing the work of veterans of the armed forces in conversation with the artistic canon, Where Have All the Flowers Gone? offers a humanizing perspective on service that resists both heroic abstraction and easy condemnation. Instead, the exhibition reveals the grey areas where loyalty and doubt, service and conscience, coexist. From post-war Europe to contemporary America, this selection of work unearths shared ground beneath those who have worn the uniform and those who have observed from without. In this collaboration, uncomplicated boundaries between consent and dissent are broken, making space for nuance and a shared need for purpose, belonging, protection and survival.

Staged Reading | White Girls Gang – A Satirical Spin on Guilt and Power

White Girls Gang, written by Rianna Simons, reimagines Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf inside a book club made up entirely of young white women. A sharp, high-octane satire of white guilt and performative allyship, this provocative new drama dives deep into privilege, irony, and the absurdities of self-awareness.

Performance | Broadway Musicians Perform Selections from a New Fairytale Musical

Composer, lyricist, and performer Miranda Ferriss Jones invites audiences behind the curtain of her new musical, The Precipice, a dark original fairytale about two girls from opposite worlds whose friendship becomes the greatest threat to an oppressive society. In this intimate salon-style evening, Jones will perform selections from The Precipice with a small band of Broadway's finest musicians, joined by guest stars from her Collective--including artists such as Lorna Courtney, Nasia Thomas, and Eleri Ward. Get the rare chance to hear Jones sing her own songs, share the stories behind them, and invite the audience into the creative process of building a new musical. The Precipice tells the story of Iris and Polly, daughters of the Goddess of Dreams, Lady Midnight. Sent to Earth to inspire a broken society, Polly embodies the dark side of the moon and Iris the light. Separated and raised under vastly different circumstances, the sisters reunite as teenagers and must fight to preserve their identities and their bond in a world determined to stifle them. The show asks the urgent question: "What will you do when they come for your wildness?" There are two ways to access this event: 1. General Admission, first-come first-served. Just show up! 2. Fast Track opening the Monday before the event at noon.
