Written by Apollonius Rhodius in the year 3 BC, The Argonautica tells the story of the flawed hero, Jason and his search for the “Golden Fleece.” Not quite the hero that Odysseus may have been, but with charismatic charm to spare, Jason assembles a team that includes the mighty Hercules, the musician Orpheus, and the sorceress Medea, who falls madly in love with the swarthy sailor.
