An afternoon of old-fashioned Americana in an air-conditioned Sanctuary.
Paul Vasile, organist and Minister of Music, will perform on a majestic 47-rank Holtkamp Organ. He will present a diverse sampling of American organ music from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Several of the featured composers were renowned music educators whose collective influence profoundly shaped the growth of American music, representative of what is often called the New England School of composers of the late 19th century -- the generation before Charles Ives.
A guided tour of The Park's Holtkamp organ, which frames a large magnificent Tiffany window, will follow the program, as well as an old-fashioned ice cream social.
Price: $5 adults; free for children 10 and under
