From 4PM – 8PM, a fleet of colorful, musical party buses from, decorated in the Colombian “chiva” style, will circulate around the Upper East Side, bringing audiences from one world music location to the next.
Buses will circulate between Bomba drumming and dance, Ghanaian “high life,” human tower builders and modernist European music, an Israeli big band, pan-Arabic performers, and young Latin and Central American musicians at a block party. At the same time, traditional Colombian ensembles will play on the buses themselves, and Indian Raags will play on WKCR 89.9FM.
