Claude Debussy is considered to be the father of musical Impressionism for his use of tone color and texture in his compositions. This permanently linked the composer to the Impressionist painters of the era as well as the fashionable writers and musicians of mid-19th century Paris, including Eric Satie, Ernest Chausson, and Stéphane Mallarmé.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birth and in honor of his indelible influence on the evolution and future of music, 150 minutes of Debussy’s music will be played each day.
