Performance | 'Disobedient': Professional Storyteller Norah Dooley's Heartbreaking Remembrance

“His story broke my world view wide open. He was a kid my age, working with Cesar Chavez to win better conditions for his family of itinerant farm workers.” Before that moment, storyteller Norah Dooley believed that every promise of our “exceptional” US democracy was a common reality. She hopes her stories about her arrest as a supporter of Chavez’s United Farm Workers, her civil-disobedience last summer for obstructing construction of a fossil-fuel pipeline - and many a “just cause” in between - will help others think of ways to make the dream of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” a reality for all people.
