You can take at least 13 free tours every day of the year, except the New Year Day, July 4th, and the Christmas Day. Spectacular views of the Big Apple, from a different perspective. Join this 14+ mile medium-paced walk. Walk across the George Washington Bridge, spiral south along the Palisades and New Jersey shore. Pass through Historic Hoboken, and finally end at the new pier near Jersey City. Tour | Bronx Walk


Beautiful trees, flowers of the Bronx Botanical Garden, Arthur Avenue and the Hall of Fame. Moderate walking, some hills, about five to six hours.. Entrance to the "Gardens" is free on Saturdays until 12:00noon. After lunch in the "Gardens", walk west on Fordham Road to Arthur Avenue and then to the Bronx Community College and the Hall of Fame. We will walk to the Burnside Station ( No. 4 train) to return to Manhattan. Bring lunch, water, binoculars or a camera with optical zoom lens. Heavy rain cancels.

Workshop | Citizen Cartography Workshop


Help NYPL build the geospatial library of the future! This workshop will get you oriented with the a set of tools the Library has developed (available at maps.nypl.org) that enables librarians and the general public to add valuable geographic context to old maps. The workshop will focus on the core activity of the website: georectification, or "warping" maps. This means overlaying digital images of historic maps onto a contemporary digital map (similar to Google Maps), transforming them into tiles of a virtual atlas.

Dance Performance | Performance & Workshop: Naomi Goldberg Haas' Dances for a Variable Population


Participants should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers or soft shoes. The performance will premiere work with DVP’s multigenerational company directed by Naomi Goldberg Haas featuring contemporary dance driven by the diversity and energy of Times Square. DVP will be joined by members of Project FIND Woodstock Senior Center in a festivity of idiosyncratic movement. The Workshop will celebrate the joys of dance for expression and wellbeing. ROUNDUP brings the company’s popular Variable Pop Expressive Dance Fitness Workshops® for adults of all ages and abilities to the Broadway plaza.
