About 8 moderate miles. Walk from Philipse Manor station via Sleepy Hollow Cemetery to the Rockefeller Preserve. Pleasant woods walk along the Pocantico River. See where the Headless Horseman roamed. Then circle through rolling hills to visit Swan Lake and Stone Farms, returning to Philipse Manor or Tarrytown. Bring lunch, water, wear sturdy shoes.

Jazz | Papo Vazquez Mighty Pirates Troubadours, Latin Jazz Band


Grammy-nominated trombonist Papo Vazquez has been at the forefront of the Latin jazz scene since the late 1970s. He has performed with jazz greats like Dizzy Gillespie and Tito Puente, co-founded the legendary Fort Apache Band, and has been commissioned by Wynton Marsalis and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra. Fusing Afro-Caribbean rhythms with jazz harmonics, he performs a special “sábado de gloria” show in conjunction with the 14th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival with his band Mighty Pirates Troubadours.
