Tour | Hudson River Nature Walk
Learn about the park’s wildlife by joining experienced naturalists on guided nature walks along the park’s esplanade. Enjoy a meandering waterfront walk while viewing and learning about the park’s flora and fauna, including some of the 85 different species of birds identified within Park boundaries. Peek into some of our many gardens to discover butterflies, dragonflies and other interesting insects. Get to know the native plants that thrive in unexpected places in and around the river’s edge. Each nature walk is unique and offers a one-of-a-kind treasure hunt-like experience.
Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Loud noises and barking tend to startle wildlife and reduce viewing opportunities - please be considerate and leave your dog at home.

This is a 3-hour tour that begins with a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, an icon of New York City for over 125 years, with spectacular views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. They’ve got the equipment (kayaks, vests, helmets, paddles), you bring the body, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship (shorts/sandals, too). Your level of experience doesn’t matter. They are limited to 15 participants per game, so reserve your spot for the game at 11AM. They’ll put you in a team and give you a vest number on a first-come first-served basis. Dedicated players and volunteers, though, will end up being teachers to others. They focus on individual attention and kayak mentoring, and offer the best free kayak learning experience you can get in NYC. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before game time to be donned with vest, helmet, paddle, and kayak.

Other | Nature Sanctuary Open Hours
During these limited hours, visitors can explore the normally closed sanctuary at their own pace along the rustic trail. See how the conservancy has restored this native woodland garden for birds and other wildlife. The wood-chipped trail is uneven; please wear appropriate shoes. This ecosystem is a protected area and home to many flora and fauna. No groups, dogs, bikes, or strollers. Free and self-guided. Space is limited.

Concert | World Sounds: Paulo Flores / Herencia de Timbiquí / Monsieur Periné
Paulo Flores is a legendary Angolan singer-songwriter keeping the flame of semba music alive in the 21st century. Semba is the elegant, earthy, African ancestor of Brazilian samba — and the root of today’s kuduro and kizomba dance crazes.
While Colombia is often synonymous with Cumbia, the music from the Pacific Coast, like that of Herencia de Timbiquí, remains largely unexplored. Herencia de Timbiquí works to preserve the ancestral roots of the marimba de chonta, and traditional instruments such as the bombo, cununos and the guasá and combines them with a powerful band, including energetic vocals, brass, keyboards, and guitar.
Monsieur Periné is one of the leading bands in Colombia‘s thriving new music scene. The group won a Latin GRAMMY award for “Best New Artist” in 2015, and their latest album Caja de Musica was produced by Eduardo Cabra, aka Visitante from the groundbreaking Puerto Rican group Calle 13.

Through personal accounts written by Muslim girls and Shakespeare’s text of Othello, Al’ukhraa explores how our opinions of “the other” effect the community as a whole, and how the current political climate of fear is directly impacting our NYC high school girls. Bring a blanket. Bring a picnic. They perform rain or shine. They will never cancel a show before showtime. So come on out! Bring a slicker, bring an umbrella. Some of their best shows have been in mysterious and foggy weather.

Play | Hudson Warehouse presents Aristophanes' Lysistrata
Originally performed in classical Athens in 411 BC, Aristophanes' Lysistrata is a comic account of one woman's extraordinary mission to end the Peloponnesian War. Lysistrata persuades the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands and lovers as a means of forcing the men to negotiate peace—a strategy, however, that inflames the battle between the sexes. The play is notable for being an early exposé of sexual relations in a male-dominated society.
This outdoor production, subtitled "Let's Make America Great Again," is adapted and directed by Susane Lee. June 30-July 24, Thursday through Sunday nights.
