Classical Music | Young Artist Competition Finals


Eight outstanding young string players between ages 13-18 compete in the First Annual Young Artists Competition in Partnership with Florian Leonhard Fine Violins. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and will be the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra's featured guest soloist at their May 20th concert where he or she will perform on a fine instrument courtesy of Florian Leonhard. The distinguished panel of judges includes violist Sam Rhodes, violinist Hanna Lachert, and composer Philip Lasser. The eight finalists were selected through a blind pre-screening process and live semi-final round. Each finalist will perform a movement of their chosen concerto accompanied by piano.
