Known as America's first suburb, Brooklyn Heights is truly a gem. Travel and Leisure named it one of America's top 10 most beautiful neighborhoods, and its beauty is rivaled only by its place in American history. These quaint, tree-lined streets have been the sites of Revolutionary War battles, abolitionist activism and have inspired numerous novelists. Visit a stop on the Underground Railroad, or the home of Truman Capote, where he penned Breakfast at Tiffany's and where Jackie Robinson signed with the Dodgers.

Although world famous, Harlem may be New York's best kept secret with some of the city's best architecture, food, music and people. Harlem's history is also one of the city's most dramatic, having gone through many ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic changes over the past roughly 400 years, which have resulted in a diverse array of places of worship, theaters, homes and eating establishments.

Centered comprises 10 photographs, each of a solitary figure – five male, five female--placed in a challenging physical or psychological situation by Leshem. Each was thus forced to confront and cope with the difficult position by finding a sense of order and balance; they each find a way to be centered. While Leshem photographs the figures in stasis, this deceptive calmness is reached only after much struggle.

Performance |
A special performance by artist Alejandro Guzman. Guzman is included in the current group exhibition "American Beauty." Guzman creates sculptures that double as performance objects. Informed by the idea of "creative misunderstanding" the artist builds mound or tower like forms whose surfaces are covered with natural man-made materials that express a global array of cultural influences. The sculpture and performances underscore absurdities and contradictions when layering cultural meaning. Guzman will be accompanied by artists Tre Chandler, Danielle Dean, Maya Jefferies, Nonhlanhla Kheswa, Jaeeun Lee and Geraldo Mercado for a thirty-minute performance.

American expatriate, international journalist and upstate New Yorker Matt Reynolds forsakes a successful life in Eastern Europe, compelled by a singular obsession: find the world's best Buffalo wing. Joined by his long-suffering Czech girlfriend, a perplexed Slovak film crew, and a ragtag gang of wing-obsessed misfits, Reynolds embarks on The Great Chicken Wing Hunt. After 2,627 miles and 284 varieties of wings, the quest ends in the very countryside of Reynolds' childhood, where he discovers that the perfection he has sought so hard to find was right under his nose all along. 71 min. Q&A with director Matt Reynolds, some of the film's characters, and the chef behind the winning sauce (via Skype). The winning sauce, as chosen by Wing Hunt's six judges is also being shipped in for a Buffalo Wings tasting following the Q&A.
