Master Class | Piano Master Class: Zhe Tang


Born in China, Zhe Tang entered the Shanghai Conservatory of Music at the age of twelve. Following graduation, he continued his studies in the United States and earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Eastman School of Music, where he served as teaching assistant to Professor Barry Snyder. In 2003, Zhe Tang became one of the youngest piano professors in the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and prizes, among them, silver medal in the Edvard Grieg International Piano Competition in Norway and first prize in the Kosciuszko Chopin Piano Competition.

The moving real-life story of a young man from Harlem coming to terms with the impact of gun violence on his life and his community. Mark Broschinsky has been recognized by the Rapid City Journal as a “true virtuoso on the instrument.” He has performed as a guest artist at the Casals Festival in Puerto Rico and has also appeared with numerous orchestras and ensembles including the Utah Symphony Orchestra, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the New Hampshire Symphony, the Britten-Pears Festival Orchestra in England and ensembles dedicated to new music including Wet Ink and Alarm Will Sound. NYC-based classical pianist Alden Gatt studied at the Eastman School of Music with Professor Barry Snyder. He appears in solo and collaborative recitals throughout the year, and is also a sought-after teacher and accompanist.
