Part celebration and part mini-conference, it's the Wikipedia Day 16th Birthday Bash NYC. One of a number of Wikipedia Days worldwide, the day will feature keynote presentations, breakout group discussions, lighting talks and yes, cake.
Wikimedia NYC is especially interested in seeing newcomers join experienced Wikipedians/Wikimedians on this day. Fans of the Free Culture movement, and new frends from cultural institutions interested in developing Open Education projects —step right up. There is wifi access, and they will give you the log in details on-site. Projectors will also probably be available for use by the various presenters.
After the conference itself, all are welcome as DJ Riply spins uptempo jams to get those editing-muscles loose.
